About Me

Welcome to the 81st Infantry Division WWII Archives. My name is Andrew and I have been researching the 81st Infantry Division for about 10 years now. I had a family member who served in the 81st Infantry Division and he was Killed in Action on Angaur Island. When I learned about him it really sparked my interest in the division. Since then I have attempted to grow my collection with the idea that I wanted to share the memory of as many Wildcat Soldiers as I could.  

About the Division

After WWI, in 1921 the 81st Infantry Division went to an skeletonized cadre division of the Army Reserves. After WWII broke out, the division was reactivated and reorganized in 1942. To read more about the history of the 81st Infantry Division click the link below.
